Kootenay Festival

A long day at Millennium Park in Castlegar for this year’s edition of the Kootenay Festival began with setting up.

What a great venue and what a view! Fantastic view of the park and the river and really close to the stage  meant a LOUD ringside seat for every performance. Improved weather, more food vendors and some great music.

You should put this on your summer list of things to do and plan on spending enough time to catch several performances – bring a lawn chair.

Cream and sugars…..

IMG_9523I sell my pottery in a small Craft Co-op in Trail, BC, called Artisan. I have some Tea pots there and decided I should make some cream and sugars to go with them. Yesterday I threw one set, a jug, a tiny vase and a garlic pot and lid. I really messed up and made the bottom of the sugar bowl, the jug and the garlic pot too thin, so they all ended up in the recycling. I don’t do this too often, but…. it was quite disappointing to lose this many pieces in one day. I did end up with a nice small jug and a tiny vase…

Biking is very popular in the Kootenays and I’ve sold both bike plates that I’ve made using a tandem bike stencil that my sister has cut for me with her scrapbooking dies…. When I was doing the market on Saturday I spied a plastic bike pin on one of my customer’s back pack. I asked her about it and she told me I could have it as she could get another one. I traded her a pot for it. This is the pin used to make an impression on a┬áhand built mug…..
